Speakers
Victor Rivera, SVP, Open Banking Exchange Latam
Victor started his career at Santander where he obtained experience in Fixed Income, FX and Global Cash Management. Then he led M&A and IPOs in Latin America and Europe and more recently, he has supported the development of the Latam Fintech and Open Finance ecosystem and is passionate about the evolution of financial services as a catalyst for economic development.
He is a frequent speaker on economics, long term investments and financial innovation and regularly contributes to leading finance publications and business associations such as Cambridge Business Association. He studied an Executive MBA at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge.
John Broxis, Managing Director, Open Banking Exchange
John is an expert on all aspects of open banking, open finance, regulatory compliance, and alternative payment methods having worked in payments and banking systems for over 20 years.
John joined EBA LEARING in 2002 where he created MyBank, a pan-European e-authorisation solution for online payments and open banking, which was moved to a separate company, PRETA S.A.S, in 2014 with John as Managing Director. In 2017 John launched the Open Banking Europe initiative, which is being rolled-out globally through Open Banking Exchange.
Colin Martin-Reynolds CMG, British Ambassador to Colombia
Ambassador Martin-Reynolds joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1990. He has served in over 20 embassies in a variety of policy and operational roles.
Most recent postings include Deputy Head of Mission in Brasilia (2011-2013) and Consul General in Washington (2004-2008). He comes to Bogota from London where he spent 5 years as the FCO’s Chief Information Officer, leading a major transformation programme. He was awarded a CMG by Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth in December 2018 in recognition of his contributions to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Jorge Castaño Gutiérrez, Finance Superintendent of Colombia
Elected in 2017 and ratified in office for the 2018-2022 presidential period, Jorge has positioned the Financial Superintendency as one of the institutions with the highest international standards in the areas of banking, insurance and securities market regulation and oversight. In his capacity as Superintendent, he was admitted as a member of the Financial Markets Committee at OECD.
He currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Association of Supervisors of Banks of the Americas (ASBA). A lawyer from Externado de Colombia University, he also holds a master’s degree in Economic Development from Carlos III University in Madrid.
Ana Maria Prieto, Deputy Director, URF, & Leader in Open Finance Implementation
Ana is an Economist from the Javeriana University, with a Master’s Degree in Public Policy from the Universidad de los Andes, a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Javeriana University and a Specialization in Capital Market Law from the same institution. She worked as a Senior Economist at Asobancaria and as a Deputy Director of Foreign Exchange before joining the Financial Regulation Unit in December 2015.
Since November 2017 she has been Deputy Director of Market Development.
Lorenzo Garavito, CEO, DANN Regional/IRIS Bank
Lorenzo is a senior banker with 25 years of experience covering Latin American clients. Lorenzo started his career in Colombia before moving to NYC where he held senior positions with Merrill Lynch and Salomon Brothers (continuing as Citi). He then returned to Colombia to be CEO of Helm Investment Banking Division.
More recently he opened the investment banking group at Scotiabank Colombia and led the digital transformation at Financiera Dann Regional, before launching IRIS the first Neobank in Colombia focused on the SME market.
Juan Fernando Uribe Navarro, Chief Financial Officer, Suramericana S.A.
Appointed Chief Financial Officer at Suramericana S.A in 2015, Juan Fernando is also a Board Director at: PROTECCION S.A., SERVICIOS GENERALES SURAMERICANA S.A.S., ADMINISTRADORA DE CARTERAS COLECTIVAS SURAMERICANA S.A., SURAMERICANA PANAMÁ S.A., RINKS DE COLOMBIA S.A., PROMOTORA DE PROYECTOS S.A., SURAMERICANA PANAMA, PROSEGUROS (DOMINICAN REPUBLIC), Y ASESUISA (EL SALVADOR).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Universidad EAFIT in Medellin and a master’s degree from CASS Business School.
Rodrigo Alfonso, Co-Founder, Sekure
Rodrigo is the CEO and Co-founder of Sekure, the first API platform specialized in digital insurance in Latam. Sekure is building the technological infrastructure that allows the insurance sector to integrate into digital economies. He has over 15 years of experience in the insurance industry and, most recently, was involved with the development of the Insurtech ecosystem and entrepreneurship in Latam.
Rodrigo is an economist from the Universidad Javeriana with a master’s degree in economics from the same university and an MBA from Drexel University.
Federico Suarez, SVP, Open Banking Exchange Latam
Federico has 30 years of capital markets experience with more than 50 transactions executed totalling more than $30 billion dollars raised for Latin American companies.
Federico engages with senior management, regulators and investors across jurisdictions to help them understand what investors look for in a company aspiring to access local and international capital markets:
Federico is an Angel Investor and holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Universidad de los Andes and Innovation and Fintech studies from Harvard University and The University of Hong Kong.
